| I had a large and very heavy shelving unit delivered fully assembled, I'd assumed it would be a flat pack or partially assembled. The delivery crew scarpered ASAP telling me it couldn't go up the stairs. I thought I could disassemble it, but it was glued. So it just sat in the sitting room practically immovable and taking up loads of space. I called Frank. He returned my call very promptly, and I emailed him some photos and measurements. He came the next day. He thinks outside the box, has great spatial awareness and is a hugely capable chap! He and his son worked with a great deal of energy and ingenuity to remove the bannister and rails from the stairs, get the shelves upstairs, then replace the bannister. | The reassurance from Frank that regardless of whether the delivery guys refused to get my new sofa through the hall (75cm vs 92cm min width) it would be sitting in my lounge that evening was perfect. In the end it slid in surprisingly easily due to very squashy cushions and he wasn't needed, but it was a real weight off to know we wouldn't have to face a lengthy battle with the supplier if it hadn't have gone in. | Frank was awesome. Had to get an extremely heavy and cumbersome sofa through a first floor window. It couldn't be machine lifted or picked apart, so it took brute strength and ingenuity to get it in. Luckily the guys had both! | Frank agreed to be "on standby" in case our sofas didn't fit through the front door. In the end they did fit, but it was good to know Frank was on standby just in case. Frank was flexible with dates and times. Thank you!

| After a couple of delivery guys managed to get a 3 seater sofa into our 2nd floor flat (with some unfortunate damage along the way), there was no way to get it through to the living room. Found Sofa Assist on the internet. Frank came along and methodically took apart the back, moved it and reassembled the Dwell sofa expertly. In fact, he improved the structural integrity by using screws instead of nails in certain places. Have to say, absolute TOP quality guy - prompt, polite, very assured, reasonably priced and honest... full marks all round. It's hard to write a testimonial about Frank without sounding like I'm one of his best mates (unfortunately, I'm not) but his work was genuinely impressive and basically saved the day. | Frank is a real star. Phoned him up in the morning and he drove all the way from Docklands to Reading on the same day to help. We thought we'd need to dismantle the sofa after the removal company men had given up and said it could not be done. Frank however has some great imagination and with a sofa bag and a little bit of manoeuvring we were into the lounge in one piece without even having to remove a staple. As he had managed to do the job in a fraction of the time he reduced his price accordingly. What a refreshing honest approach to work as he could have spent several hours take it apart and rebuilding it when it was completely unnecessary. Totally recommended !!! I found Sofa Assist via Google, headlined by all of these glowing testamonials...and I'm about to add another! I cannot recommend Frank and Sofa Assist enough. From start to finish they were friendly and professional with a "no problem" attitude. As with most people on here, my lovely sofa arrived and I realised that, although I had measured the immediate access to my flat's front door, it wouldn't actually fit into the apartment block entrance. I had paid in full for the sofa and the company would only hold it for 2 days. Panic.
One phonecall later, (and several "no problem"s), Frank and his colleague arrived on the delivery day and within an hour I was sitting on my new sofa.
These guys were my knights in a white van and true gentlemen! I went back to work and sang their praises to anyone that would listen.

| Can't thank Frank and Joe enough for getting our sofa in to our living room - We had waited over a month to be delivered (with the delivery drivers messing us around, there was a lot of tooing and frowing, phone calls and emails) which left us underwhelmed and frustrated.
Frank and Joe (after already having a long day) came round and we were the last job of the day. I don't think they expected the job to take as long as it did but they were so lovely and happy to help - Chatting away with smiles on their faces and they managed to do an absolutely sterling job!
My partner and I couldn't be happier or comfortable for that matter... All thanks to those two gents!

| After waiting with anticipation for my new sofa from LA, only for it to arrive and then be returned to the warehouse; too big to fit through the doors. My friend searched the web and found sofa assist. I called and since that first conversation, I was assured that it will not be a problem, and it wasn't. I cannot recommend Frank highly enough, what a dream team. They were prompt, efficient, drama free, conscientious and truly professional. | Absolutely delighted with the service I received. We have a very special sofa that was unable to fit up our new flat's very narrow staircase. Frank meticulously dismantled the sofa and perfectly reassembled it at the top of the stairs. This was a big job, but luckily he was up for it. | As with most visitors of this website there is a large item that cannot fit the main entrance. This is followed by stress and anxiety that end when you come across this website. Well, you are in EXCELLENT hands. Frank is a great guy and he can deliver. Excellent and reliable service. We called him at 11:30am and we were sitting on our sofa at 15:00pm the same day. | Excellent service, our sofa would not fit in our lounge through the door or via the window and we didn't really want to return it. Frank came out the same day, dissembled it and put it back together in our lounge, and the end result is that it looks and feels exactly as if nothing had been done to it. | We lost our hope in bringing our sofa in to the Flat on First floor and arranged for sale on eBay.
We came across this site through Google and found Frank and his services.
Even though we contacted him late in the night he knocked the door exactly at 7:00 a.m. and finished the Job in 20 min by bringing the 4 weeks awaited large sofa in to our lounge through the balcony door.
We are so thankful for his professional ethics and the way he finished the job.

| I can't recommend Frank and Sofa Assist enough! When we moved from a ground floor flat to a first floor I was convinced there was no way our large sofa would ever make it through the front door, let alone into the living room.
Frank arrived on time as promised and set about dismantling the sofa and before we knew it had moved it upstairs and re-assembled it good as new!
Frank's a lovely guy, and nothing is too much trouble - you can tell he takes a real pride in his work and is professional at all times.
I'll definitely be using Sofa Assist again when we move next!

| After buying our new sofabed from M&S we were totally stuck as it did not get up the stairs to the spare room. I rang M&S Milton Keynes and they recommended that I call Frank at Sofa Assist.
Even at the weekend he was happy to chat and after sending a few photos, he was able to book in a slot to help us out within a few days. I was expecting it to be weeks worth of wait, but Frank was great, and came round as promised.
I was really amazed at how expertly he and his “deputy” took apart and then re-assembled the sofa upstairs. I actually think they put it back together more solidly than it was before!

| I had a corner sofa bed which wouldn't fit through my flat door. Was so frustrated and desperate, especially right before Christmas. I found sofaassist.com site immediately after googling. I called Frank at 10pm and was surpised he answered at such late time. I emailed him photos and received a quote within 15 minutes. When we made a decision, a gave him a call and he came to us at the very next day at agreed time. I know it was a tricky and hard job but Frank did really well. He worked hard for nearly 6 hours, he was very precise and focused on what he's doing. Anyway the job was really well done, you saved us! | 15/01/2013 - If you have a sofa problem Frank is definitely your man. I had a sofa delivered that was too big to fit through my living room doorway. I called Frank who patiently tried to see if I could solve the problem myself to save me some money on a call out charge. Unfortunately I wasn't able to solve the problem and Frank to my relief did come out. When he arrived in no time at all he had carefully removed the arm of the sofa, manouvered the two parts into the living room and reassembled the sofa for me. | 12/01/13 After waiting 8 weeks for our new sofa we were gutted when it did not fit through the door, we arranged re delivery and tried to get it through an upstairs window - still no joy. About to give up hope we found sofaassist.com. We read the testimonials and it sounded positive, had a look at other reviews of the service on the internet and could not find a single negative review - now we know why! We contacted Frank and gave him all the details of the sofa and our property and he assured us that we would at last be able to have our sofa. He arrived on time and full of energy and confidence after a 2 1/2 hour drive, and helped get the sofa from the delivery lorry into the hallway. He got to work immedialtely, working in a very confined space where he and his assitant quickly and carefully took the sofa apart and brought it upstairs and reassemled it perfectly. Very proffesional and reasonably priced. We would have no hesitation in recommending this service to anybody and would certainly use it again. | Frank is an absolute angel! After DFS getting our sofa into our flat 8 years ago we just could not get it out! We hired another so called professional removals company who assured us they would have no problems removing the sofa. Well after an hour of them trying they gave up but not without leaving our walls and leather sofa marked and damaged. I was so upset and then found Sofa assist. On the internet. Frank was an absolute pleasure to deal with and told is how to go about disassembling the sofa so we could remove it .Without Franks such kind , amazing help I honestly don't know what we would of done. | Very impressed with the service. After spending 2 hours trying to get a 7 foot John Lewis sofa into our flat, we realised at 8pm that it would have to go through our front window. Called Sofa Assist at 8pm, and not only was my call answered but they were able to come first thing next morning. | We live in a flat and had great difficulty getting our sofa up the staircase into our living room on the third floor of the building. We called Sofa Assist for a solution. Frank made an extra effort to help us over the Christmas period, which was greatly appreciated. He and his team were friendly and extremely professional in their approach to the job, removing (and replacing) a window and hoisting the sofa from the outside of the building. After 3 hours late at night trying to manoeuvre our sofa in to the front room we gave up as it was simply too big. After looking online we came across Sofa Assist, we emailed close to midnight that night and were amazed to receive an email back within 15 minutes, and then a phone call to discuss the problem. It was arranged that they would come and have a look the following morning. They arrived around 10:30 took a look and assured us that there was nothing to worry about, even more surprising was that they told us they can do it right away!!!!!! Overjoyed to hear this we agreed and within 45 mins the sofa that was far too big to move, was sat in the front room. Needless to say we were astonished and overjoyed all at once!! The price was fair and the pleasant, considerate and professional nature they worked with was a credit not only to themselves but the company they represent. I have no problem in recommending this service to anybody who finds themselves in this same predicament and I can honestly say the list of superlatives to credit Sofa Assist is too long to mention. | The following testimonial below has been slightly edited as we do not revile company names. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 09/12/12 We had our heart set on a large sofa from ****that they could not deliver as it was just too big for our first floor flat, we were really disappointed as it would was just perfect for us, I then desperately googled: "Sofa too Big" and Sofa Assist was the first thing that popped up. Having read all of his great reviews. I decided to call Frank, and a date was arranged, unfortunately on the day of delivery, Frank couldn't make it due to unforeseen circumstances, but he promised that he would bend over backwards to get the sofa delivered at any other date. Thankfully **** could arrange a re- delivery on that Sunday. I advised Frank that delivery was due between 10am and 12pm, and it was agreed that **** would call me an hour before and I would call Frank so he could drive down. The delivery time was delayed by 1 hour so I sent Frank a message to advise of the delay, he then called me back so advice that he had been sitting in his van at the top of my road since 9.30am!! I was shocked, he definitely lived up to his promise to not let me down! The sofa eventually arrived but they didnt call me an hour before, so if Frank wasn't there already, I would have been left with a sofa on my drive for over an hour!! Frank tried his hardest in assisting the delivery man in getting it in, but it just wouldnt fit, so a dis-assemble would have had to be done, of course I was extremely worried about this but I have to say Frank really put my mind at rest by talking me through what he was doing step by step. It was fascinating to watch him work, he took he back off, we got it in and he worked tirelessly putting it back together again, in a few hours the sofa was back to new, and you would never have known that it had been taken apart! Never seen anyone make lifting a sofa over a balcony look so easy! | I had a sofa which wouldn't fit through my flat door and had to leave it in a very inconvenient place on the landing. I called Frank and he arrived as agreed at 7am on Monday morning. On arrival he wrapped the sofa up took it back downstairs and lifted it through my 1st floor window very quickly. Everything was very well protected and he left no mess and even repaired the back of the sofa which I had damaged when trying to get it through the door. | We had two large leather sofa's that did not fit through our doorways in our flat. These sofas were in very good condition and been in the family for over 12 years; something we wanted to be treated with the utmost care. The only possibility was to get them through our first floor flat window. However, we were never be sure that they would fit.
Frank and Daniel were extremely professional and such friendly guys. They made us feel completely relaxed and at ease and realised our concern about the sofas. They got on with the job in hand straight away and in next to no time we had both our sofas sitting in our living room without a scratch.
Could not praise these guys enough and would recommend them to absolutely anyone who is needing help with this issue......David |
| We moved into our new home and to our surprise we could not get our sofa into the living room - it sat in our dining room until I decided to call Frank. When he arrived the next day I was very pleased and relieved to meet such a professional, friendly person. He set to work right away, took the back off the sofa, moved it into the living room and reassembled it leaving no indication that the sofa had been dismantled. | Frank has arrived and managed to put the custom made sofa through the doorway and tricky hallway that two other teams did not make. Truly magician! Very professional, effective and friendly. | Frank has just left my flat and I have a brand new sofa that I thought would never fit through a stairwell and double doors at a very tricky angle.
After two months of waiting, my sofa was delivered, still boxed and the two large delivery men could not seem to find a solution to get it into my flat. It would not fit in the lift and they were unable to get it though the stairwell. They had to take it back to the warehouse.
The only help they gave me was to tell me about hiring a crane to get it through my balcony doors on the second floor.
In my desperation I found Sofa Assist on the internet and within two days Frank came around and once he had the sofa out of the box it was skilfully manoeuvred in and through the stairwell and in my living room within half and hour. There was no need to hoist it up over the balcony or take the sofa apart.
I found Frank to be professional, skilful and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who has a problem of this sort.

| What a top guy!! Same old story, bought a sofa, managed to get it indoors but not in the room we bought it for.
Frank turned up on Sunday afternoon, dismantled the sofa, moved it into the room we wanted and put it all back together as new.
Cannot recommend Frank highly enough. He's craftmenship is second to none and to top it off you could not meet a nicer guy.

| Do you remember 'The Wolf' in 'Pulp Fiction'? The elegant Mr Fix-it who can solve any problem, any time, anywhere? Well, Frank makes 'The Wolf' look like a bumbling work experience boy. We tried everything to get our sofa from the delivery van into our first floor flat, but to no avail. We thought we'd have to sell it. Frank got it into our living room in little over an hour. With the dexterous precision of a surgeon, he swiftly removed the lining and dismantled the arms, taking the sofa upstairs in installments and reassembling it in the front room. I'm sat on it now and you wouldn't know that it had ever been touched, let alone skilfully disemboweled in the hallway. Frank is lovely and it was a pleasure to watch him at work. | I, like many others, ordered a sofa that was too big to get up my staircase. A regular removals firm was unable to navigate the sofa around a very tight corner on the stairs. I called Frank on a Friday night and he turned up to the house the next morning. Within a few hours the sofa had been disassembled, reassembled and put in place. | We also had an incredible experience with Frank. We thought all was lost and actually had our large and very heavy sleeper sofa on ebay before we discovered Sofa Assist's website through some searching. Frank called us back immediately, and the next day we thought we'd have to have our sofa disassembled and re-assembled in order to get into our house, but instead he found a simpler and less expensive alternative and removed the mechanism inside and cushions, removed the lattice on the brick wall to the garden, and lifted it over and through the garden and into the back door! Needless to say, we removed the listing from ebay, saved a lot of money, time trouble by not having to purchase a new sofa, and highly recommend Frank and his services!.....Benjamin E. |
| What a fantastic service. After waiting for 3 months for our sofa to be delivered, half of it wouldn't fit through our flat door. So I called Frank and he was able to come over the same day. Really lovely guy, took the sash window of my top floor flat out, safely wrapped the sofa up and winched it up, through and into the living room. All done in 2 hours, he didn't leave any mess, and even screwed the feet into the sofa for me afterwards. I couldn't be happier with my sofa and with Sofa Assist for doing such a fab job. | Wow, what a service! We were very disappointed that we could not get our much loved large sofas though the small door of our new cottage no amount of pushing or shoving was going to do it. We moved from Birmingham to Hertfordshire to be told by the removal company that the 4 seater sofa wouldn't go up the stairs to the top floor flat and that they were returning it to Birmingham! We found Sofaassist on Google and after a call to Frank and a couple of photos of the sofa and the ways into the flat he assured us he could do it. Once the sofa was back in Hertfordshire, Frank turned up (early) and within the hour had got the sofa in the flat via the balcony. He made it look easy. | One more happy customer! two nights ago I met Frank who has been most helpful! he solved the problem of the settee THAT WAS TOO LARGE TO COME THROUGH THE DOOR... He, with out any fuss took the settee apart carried it up in bits and re-essembled it, all this within 3 hours, at non-social times to suit the customer (who traveled to London from Yorkshire). He waited for me at 9.30 pm in front of the venue, was happy to accommodate the date and time I requested, finished the job with a smile and left.
I truly recommend him! he is as good as his internet site says - perhaps even better.
Now thank goodness I will not have to host my guests in the garage (where the settee was stored) after all.

| If you have any problems at all getting your sofa into your place don't hesitate to call Frank. I couldnt get our 3 seater sofa into our top floor flat, so looked up options online and saw sofaassist. Read the recommendations and decided to give it a try and wasn't disappointed. I emailed over photos of the sofa and the routes into the flat on the friday, and then he came over on the saturday to do the job. On arrival he explained the plan and how much it was going to cost. Then once agreed, he bagged up the sofa and started connecting ropes ready to hoist the sofa up the wall and into the window. He took the sash window out with no fuss at all and then the sofa was hoisted up. Once up it came in through the window it had to go in through another tight door. Which after 30 mins of trying I was ready to give up. But Frank wasn't having it and kept going, trying different angles. Eventually after another 10 mins he figured it out by taking off a cupboard door opposite the door we were going through and ended up rotating it through. The sofa was completely protected and didnt have a scratch or mark to show for its route in through the window. After he fixed everything he had taken to bits, the sofa was fitted, the cupboard door put back on and the sash window fixed. He also offerered to hoover up but didn't feel right letting him do that too. Would highly recommend, this is a person who goes above and beyond to provide a great service......Andy |

While we had measured for the sofas and were well prepared for their dimensions in our space, we were subject to the terrible news that "the sofas were too big to fit through the door." The delivery men gave up on the task almost immediately, claiming they could neither do any work on the door or remove the wrapping of the sofas subjecting us to the rather dismal fate of watching the sofas disappear in the back of a truck. Perhaps the most fortunate aspect of this entire affair was the discovery that a "can and will do" attitude is all that is needed to get any job done. Determined to have the sofas that we had waited for after such an extended series of delay, we immediately began an internet search and found "sofassist.com" It was amazing to watch this specialist at work. Not only did he not have to disassemble the sofas as we suspected, but it was only a matter of removing the front door and the inner jambs (a 15 minute process) before he and his partner were able to deliver both of the sofas into our reception! It was so refreshing to see two individuals so fully determined to complete a job. Truly, where there is a will there is a way. To be sure, sofaassist was prepared to get our sofas into our space one way or another and immediately had two back up plans should the door removal not work! After the movers we'd hired to move us out of one flat and into another gave up on getting our sofa out of the door (let alone into our new place), we made a frantic call to Frank. Miraculously, he and his associate Seth graciously agreed to help the very next day. They were punctual, beyond courteous and jaw-droppingly efficient, despite having to haul the sofa down 3 flights of stairs and up a further 2. | I called to make an enquiry, and Frank talked me through options and asked me to send him pics of our sofa. He went over these and called me back, telling me that he was happy to come out and do it for me, but that it was a fairly simple job so maybe he could talk me through how to do it myself. He took his time describing to me how to do it, free of charge, and sure enough, he was right, and I managed to dismantle and reassemble the sofa myself! | I moved into my flat in December and the removals company could not move in my sofa insisting that the doorway was too small. It was languishing in the garage for 7 months and after searching high and low for a sofa that would fit and was not a tiny 2 seater I gave up any hope of having anything bar a futon in my living room. | 2/7/12 Frank and his team did an extermely good job in taking a raised ground floor bay sash window out to fit my slightly oversized sofa. They even repaired the sash ropes so that the window opens and closed normally. They were quick, helpful, efficient and very friendly. | Frank saved my wife's birthday! Having been waiting for our new sofa to arrive for over 3 months, we were absolutely shocked when the delivery guys told us that it was impossible to get the sofa beyond the entrance of our building! They tried for over an hour to squeeze through the lift and doorway to the stairs but insist it did not fit through. The shop we bought it off refused to take the sofa back even after we offered to pay for the delivery cost and the hit from selling at a deep discount. We had no choice but to ask them to leave it in our secured parking space and looked for solutions.
We called Frank at 3pm and we were so lucky that he was near the area and was free to take a look immediately. He dismantled parts of the sofa enough to squeeze the main long section up 3 flights of stairs through calculated positioning and odd angles! Who would have known the sofa could fit through such tight spaces! He saved our day and was able to start reassembling the sofa by 6pm the same day! | I can't speak highly enough of Frank - he removed my massive sofa from my old flat to my new (having to go through the window at the latter!) quickly, efficiently and without any dramas. | 24/04/12 - First class service from Frank! Having just moved to a new 1st floor victorian terrace flat, our M&S sofa was too high for lounge door & impossible to negotiate 90deg bend, so I searched the internet & found this site. I spoke to Frank, who informed me that he personally carries out the work. He's a consummate professional - with excellent knowledge, communication & skill & thoroughly nice bloke. He explained possible solutions to us after we e-mailed picture of the sofa with measurements, the fixed fee meant we knew the costs before work commenced. Taking out the sash window was a delicate operation, but Frank was careful not to damage paintwork/wood. The sofa was wrapped in a protective cover, straps attached & hoisted through 1st floor window. Took 1 hour in total. Neighbours from adjoining flats watched & admired his hoisting. | Amazing work: Frank managed to get the sofa inside the house in less than an hour and without having to disassemble it, when the moving company gave up after an hour, and everyone said it was impossible! On top of that, they were really responsive when I had the neighbours complaining because I had the Sofa blocking the stairs. | Frank is actually some kind of miracle worker. After the delivery men from the sofa company gave up and left my new sofa jammed behind my front door, two of my friends came round and spent a further half hour trying to move it. They gave up and then my boyfriend and I tried everything possible to make it fit into my living room... to no avail. The only option seemed to be to try and fit it through a window - which is when I called Sofa Assist.
Frank came over a couple of days later, looked at it for 3 minutes and then gently maneuvered into position. I actually didn't know what to say - completely stunned.

Order a sofa from ****, it has been delivered and then 'Sofa Too Big to fit through the door' and **** just walk away leaving the sofa outside the door and passing me the one number for their Handyman, who will take it apart, move in and fit it inside. After few hours on the phone with **** Customer Service, Store Manager and so on... did realize 'NO ONE harry up to help me. | We recently moved from the USA with an American Queen size sofa bed which couldn't fit through the door of our new apartment. Frank did an assessment with some photos and a phone call and assured us it wouldn't be a problem.
When he came to our home, he and his colleague dis-assembled, installed and re-assembled the sofa all in the space of an hour! It is impossible to tell that the couch has been taken apart, very impressive workmanship.

| We ordered what we thought was a small 2 seater leather sofa from John Lewis - clearly there would be no problem getting through to front door to our 1st floor flat and up the stairs.... Wrong. After asking the guys to try 'just one more time' we eventually acknowledged that it wasn't going anywhere but back to the warehouse. The sofa however was 'perfect' so I googled 'sofa too big for stairs' and 'sofa through window' and found SofaAssist and Frank. After calling Frank and him viewing the sofa online he assured us that it would be no problem to disassemble move it upstairs and reassemble. Frank's price for this was very reasonable and though feeling a bit nervous we agreed to go ahead and asked John Lewis to redeliver.
No need for nerves. Frank worked quickly to unpick the netting on the bottom of the sofa, unbolt the arms, move everything upstairs and reassemble... amazing : ) so nice to be able to use someone so friendly and competent. I highly recommend his service.

| I had recently bought a high quality sofa with matching chairs from DFS for a bargin price for a house I had recently moved into. Unfortunatley when I got it home it didnt fit! It looked as if it should but wouldnt, after getting an extortionate quote to take out the front room window I felt despair and the new sofa which was sitting in the kitchen diner kept me up at night. | After struggling and failing to get a large, heavy and stupidly expensive B&B Italia sofa to our first floor flat we found this website and called Frank at Sofa Assist. He arranged to visit the same day. Frank arrived that evening, explained what would happen and got straight to work. I was worried at first seeing Frank remove the sofa's outer cover but I needn't have worried. It was carefully wrapped and expertly lifted through an upper floor sash window that he had already removed. Once inside the sofa was unwrapped, the cover replaced, the legs fitted and the sofa positioned. Any mess was cleared and the window was replaced. There was even time for a chat! | Having eagerly waited for my sofa to arrive from the Middle East, I was distraught to find that I was unable to fit the sofa through the front door. It sat in the garage for 3 weeks while I decided my other options - which was mainly to buy a new and more expensive modular sofa. | I ordered a sofa from a high end retailer and they failed to inform me the sofa (which was modular in the showroom) wasn't modular and came in 2 huge sections. Frank and Mikey - stripped the upholstrey off the sofa and took out the frame. They then lifted it up 6 flights of stairs - where it was extremely tight - and took off 2 doors - and 1 hour later the sofa was in the flat... I cannot recommend Frank enough... My sofa was not easy to disassemble, but Frank worked tirelessly late into the night to make sure that I had my sofa in my flat and good as new before the day was finished. | Frank's the Sofa Man! He must have sofa written in his DNA; he certrainly saved the day last week.
We had ordered a very large one piece sofa from a high end store. They delivered it to our door, but couldn't get it through the corridors, because of its angles. The delivery guys from the store tried for over two and a half hours in every position and possibilty; there was no way that sofa was going to get through, they said. We were advised to call Sofa Assist, who came the next day to hoist up our very heavy sofa. Turned out they needed acces to our neighbour from above and his balcony, but he was on holiday. Frank wanted to cut up the sofa, bring it in in pieces and reassemble. We didn't authorise that.
We had a discussion about what was possible: Frank was to come back when the neigbour was back from holiday two weeks later, or he would have to bring an elevator. But that would need us to ask for permission to close down the street and we live on a busy one-way bus lane. Every solution just meant a major inconveniece, which I could do without very much.
Frank had spent two hours in a traffic jam, was faced here with a canundrum on the warmest day of the year. At the end of the discussion we agreed that Frank would come back two weeks later. Frank was very helpful and willing, but none of us were very happy, clearly ...
And then he said: "are you sure it doesn't go through the corridor ... can I give it a try?" "By all means", I said, and 3 minutes later our sofa was inside our appartment.
I hate hassle, and with Frank you are sure to get the best service with the least hassle. What also helps is that he is the nicest, friendliest guy you'll ever meet. Just make sure to feed him apples ....

| Frank is just fantastic. My husband and I have a large American sofa and we wanted to get it up from our recent move from the ground floor flat to the top floor flat. It would be impossible to get it upstairs internally... and even upholsters near by said they wouldn't take it apart for us.
I found sofaassist.com on a Google Search and contacted Frank immediately. I sent over some pics of the sofa and windows from both properties along with measurements. Frank responded to me with a quote and even gave us a plan B quote if the sofa indeed had to be taken apart.

| I had 2 sofas that we wren't able to get into a lower ground floor flat in the normal way (through the front door!) so I contacted Frank who was very polite and professional and agreed that he could help. We ended up taking out a window on a higher foor and winching the sofas down 2 levels and in through my patio door......all whilst trying to dodge rain showers! he was thoughtful and professional throughout and put everything back as it had been. | After realising that we weren't going to be able to sort this problem ourselves, we found Sofa assist through Google. We called on a Sunday, expecting to get an answer machine and a call back on Monday, so were suprised when the phone was answered straight away. Frank listened to our problem and asked for a couple of photos (which we were able to text to him) so he could determine if he was able to help. He called back within the hour to say that he was able to help us and would that afternoon be any good for us!!!
Frank was able to get the sofa's apart in less than an hour with the minimum amount of disruption.
A fantastic service we would highly recommend to anyone and one we would definitely use again in the future.

| When I moved from a house to a top floor flat I discovered (to my despair) that my three seater leather sofa couldn't turn in the stairway, and hence it didn't have a chance of getting it into the flat.
My sister found 'Sofa Assist' on the internet and I contacted them straight away. To my surprise their response was very quick. I sent Frank some photos of the sofa on the Sunday and he called me back the following day with options. The options were to either dismantle and but back together (once in the flat) or to hoist up two floors through a suitable window.
It worked out that the sofa could fit through a window. So the window was carefully removed and the sofa then professionally protected and hoisted up directly into the flat and the window carefully put back. They (Frank and Michael) did it so carefully and quickly it almost looked effortless!

Having rang up Sofaassist, the man on the phone gave me instructions and was very patient with me when i tried explaining my situation. | 18th June 2011. If like me you have a sofa problem and have just googled and found the Sofa Assist website, then give these guys a call. On the phone, Frank clearly listens to your sofa problem and may ask you to email photos of the sofa and the house entrance to figure out the best solution for installation. I had a large cream leather sofa that the removal men left in the underground car park. I rang Frank on Friday, and the next morning he was at my apartment to disassemble the sofa, bring it up 4 floors, and reassemble it perfectly, doing a top quality job. This guy has over 20 years experience with sofas and his knowledge and skill clearly show. Added to that, Frank is very polite, friendly, tidy and strong, doing a great job and making you feel comfortable that the problem will be solved. In addition, Frank fixed a large wooden dining table for me where pieces of wood had split and needed bonding and clamping, whilst he also opened a large wooden crate that had been used to transport an electric piano back from the Middle East. We purchased a three-seater sofabed for our flat in June 2011 and then having struggled with it through the front door to the entrance to our bedroom late on Friday night (taking a few chunks out of the wall in doing so...) found to our horror that it was simply too big to get into the room. The following day we found Frank's details via gumtree and spoke to him about our predicament - after sending him a photo via mobile phone he said he could come round later that day and said he would guarantee to get it into the room. He duly arrived and did a quick run-through of all potential options (his understanding of space is amazing!). The sofabed base was quickly dismantled (taking out the weight) before he carefully wrapped the sofabed in plastic and protective padding. He then got it out through our first bedroom window into the garden and having carefully removed the second bedroom window got it into the room with relative ease. The plastic covering was then removed and the sofabed put back together again - including the legs, before he put the window back undamaged. A quick call to Frank and three hours later he was at our flat in North London on a Tuesday evening. He and his colleague effortlessly popped out our first floor sash window and hoisted the large three seater sofa up through the window and into the living room before replacing the window. When we realised that the delivery men hadn't provided us with screws to secure the feet on the sofa Frank provided his own and got it all sorted.

| We bought some divan beds which were too large to get up our stairs. Rather than send them back I looked for another solution and found sofa assist on the Internet. After sending photos of the bed and windows, it was decided to remove a first floor bedroom window and put the beds through it. Frank and Mike came the very next morning and were friendly, polite and made a difficult job seem smooth and easy. They even put the wheels on the beds and set them up where I wanted them. The window was put back expertly and everything left clean and tidy. I am over the moon to have the beds that I wanted rather than having to compromise with bed bases.

| I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Frank for basically saving the day!! I had bought two huge corner sofas for my new build house with the idea of having one of the sofas in my basement room and one in the top floor lounge. I was told by the sales person when buying the sofas that they broke down into numerous pieces and would fit downstairs into my basement. Well of course this was not the case, and we could not get the sofa down the stairs, and in the end we had to put it into storage, and thought we would have to sell it. I absolutely, loved the sofa and as a last resort googled "sofa help" and found Frank's company Sofa assist. I called Frank and he said to email some photos of the sofa over to him that evening. He then rang me straight away and said he could do the job, (HE HAS NOT EVER FAILED AT A JOB IN 20 YEARS!!) and could come over the next day. He came at 10 am the next day and by the time I got home from work the sofa was downstairs in perfect condition (he basically took it all apart and perfectly re-built it!!!) and absolutely looked amazing!! | When we moved to a house with the lounge on the 1st floor I was convinced I would have to get rid of my beautiful, expensive sofa as it would not go up the stairs. Frank came to visit us and realised that the sofa would not come apart as initially thought. He arranged for a local glazier to remove a first-floor window and personally checked that they took the window out carefully and replaced it carefully. How he managed to hoist the sofa up to the 1st floor I don't know, but he got it in as promised. He was incredibly careful and persevered in getting the sofa in - even though it meant three visits. I would highly recommend Sofa assist to anyone with a sofa that logic would suggest will never fit into your lounge.

What a fantastic service! We had 2 large sofas delivered and the delivery men could not get them into our lounge. Their advice was to 'exchange it for a nice little corner suite'. I had spent months looking for the right sofa and was determined to get them in. After a local glazier came round and was reluctant to take out the wooden window in our Grade 2 listed cottage, I felt desperate and a little upset. So I googled 'sofa too big to go through door' and up popped 'Sofa Assist'. Too good to be true was my first thought and as we were way out of the regions that they cover I called them to ask if they could recommend anybody else. Frank was wonderful and offered to come all the way to Worcestershire for us, he was here all day and basically dismantled these two huge sofas and then put them back together again. He asked me which side I thought he had redone and I honestly got the wrong one. Frank had in fact done a much tidier job of upholstering than the manufacturers had. They are now in their rightful place and look just as they did when the packaging came off. I can't recommend this company enough and if you are like me and feel sick at the thought of somebody dismantling your brand new sofa, then don't worry because Frank is a perfectionist and won't leave until they are just right again. | We bought a very heavy, almost 3 meter wide leather sofa. The delivery guys from the shop couldn't get it through the corridor and I had already given away the old sofa. So here we were, stuck, Friday afternoon in an empty lounge with our new sofa sitting downstairs in the reception area.
I called Frank from sofaassist.com. He actually aplogized for not being able to do the job straight away, but came the next day, first thing. Unphazed he and his colleague got on with the job: no hissing or puffing. We live on the 3rd floor and they had to hoist the thing up. They said it was their "heaviest one" this year, but they wouldn't pause for a second.
They took excellent care of our property and they are fab guys, very friendly and a pleasure to have round.
Look no further: these are the guys who get the job done quickly and to the highest standard at a very competitive price. And they leave out all that annoying drama you normally get.

| Frank and his colleague were brilliant! I had an unwieldy sofa that wouldn't fit through the door and they managed to winch it up a considerable height through the window. They laid down blankets so that they didn't damage anything and even restapled the mess we had made of the sofa when we thought we might try taking it apart ourselves. They brought all the tools they might need, including a power cable extension and I was really impressed with their speed and professionalism.

My parents' sofa was too big for the door. Frank arrived and dismantled the sofa to get it through. Explained what he was doing every step of the way, so that when the fateful day comes that we have to get it out again, we'l know what to do. Put it back together again in a better state than it was originally!
Cheaper than the costs involved in removing a newly installed double-glazed window - and avoided the mess.

| End of August, we moved an old French cupboard into our London house. Well--it went in the door, but no chance of getting it 2 flights of stairs to the bedroom. Along the way, we helped the movers ruin an area of newly installed wallpaper--it's now going to be the home of a mirror. A cry for help to Frank, and he came out the next morning. He helped with some things right away, and set out a reasonably priced program to move the cupboard. We asked him to consider a Sunday, and he called back to confirm he would do it. He and his assistant came on time, performed their miracles, and cleaned up after themselves. It's like a video of the 50's, when people are polite, do what they say, and --you know--it's nice to see a company that earns a good living rendering an honest service!. | 02 September 2010 - Had a tiny staircase and Frank managed to take my sofas up to my top floor lounge in bits and put it back together in better condition than it was be before. Attention to detail and professionalism was top notch! Not only did this save me money from buying a smaller sofa set, it means I get to keep the sofas I like. Thanks from George + Sophie!..... |
| 1 September 2010 - many thanks to Frank. He solved what had become a massive problem for us when we moved house recently. He winched two sofas down to ground level from our 4th floor flat, and made it look easy. He was quick, reliable and so good natured that he and his colleague made what was quite a traumatic experience for me (seeing my sofas being edged down the back of the building) a painless process! We called him again when our sideboard wouldn't go up the stairs of our new house. As with our first experience of him, Frank was super reliable, attending to the job as soon as he could and impressing us all with his professionalism, and strength!
